This document outlines the technical and legal protocols governing your data on TellMyLocation.com. Unlike standard policies, we explain the lifecycle of your data to demonstrate our commitment to Data Minimization.

1. The Lifecycle of a Coordinate

When you use our service, your location data follows a strict, enclosed path designed to prevent persistence:

1. BROWSER: Requests permission via navigator.geolocation.
2. OS: Retrieves GPS data from hardware chip.
3. RAM: Data is stored in volatile memory to display map.
4. TERMINATION: Tab close triggers garbage collection (data deletion).
5. SERVER: NO LOGS CREATED BY US.

2. External API Usage (Data Processors)

To provide utility features like address lookup and weather, your browser makes direct requests to trusted third-party APIs. While we do not transmit your personal identity, these requests function as standard web traffic:

Nominatim (OpenStreetMap): Receives Latitude/Longitude coordinates to return an address. As with any web request, they may log your IP address for security and abuse prevention purposes according to their own privacy policy.
Open-Meteo: Receives coordinates to fetch temperature data. This connection uses TLS 1.3 encryption to protect the data in transit.
Leaflet Maps: Fetches visual map tiles. These requests are subject to the standard server logging policies of the tile provider.

3. Cookie Policy & AdSense

We use Google AdSense to monetize this free tool. Google may place a cookie on your browser to serve relevant ads based on your general region (City/Country) or browsing history.

Crucial Distinction: Google's ad cookies operate independently of our GPS tool. We do not pass your precise GPS coordinates to the ad network. They utilize your IP address (general location), while you utilize your GPS location (precise location).

4. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because we do not store personal data on our servers, "Right to Delete" requests are not applicable to our own database (as it does not exist). However, we fully support your Right to Opt-Out of non-essential tracking via our Consent Manager located in the site footer.
